Anyone who has walked along the streets in downtown Yangon at the peak of noon under the hot cloudless sky – with vehicle horns blasting away, sweat falling non-stop down one’s body – will realize how troublesome and incredibly hard to find a peaceful and relaxing spot amongst the concrete buildings. Currently, plans to improve a portion of the city's parks have answered that need, yet it can still be hard to completely avoid the sights and smells that are frequently included during visits to downtown areas. Now and again, one might be able to appreciate these “quirks” as part of the cities’ character. However, more often than not, these lead to headaches and moments of frustration – especially when temperatures reach 40 degrees Celsius in dry heat on average.
