Social business for Myanmar Artisans from HLA DAY
2018-08-19edit NNHLA DAY is a souvenir shop selling works handmade by Artisan and disadvantaged groups etc in Myanmar next to Rangoon tea house along Pansodan Street. There are many handmade products in the shop, such as wallets, bags, traditional costumes, furniture, objects. Each handmade products are ordered from Artisan and Artisan groups who work in various parts of Myanmar. HLA DAY is mainly aimed at helping to preserve the position of Artisan working in various parts of Myanmar. In order to support Artisan's livelihood, they also create sustainable markets, providing business training and design training. Materials of the products are procured locally in Myanmar, and many unique Myanmar artifacts are made through traditional techniques. For example, Artisan, which uses textiles, suggests purchasing directly from weavers, and another Artisan proposes to use recycled plastics material for the sake of the environment. There are many tribes in Myanmar, so there are works with various personality depending on what is made in each area. Also, profits from sales will be reinvested in each community of Artisan to create a sustainable business. By creating such a business model, it will protect Myanmar's Artisans and help protect Myanmar's traditional crafts.
