2019-12-28edit Kyaw Hsu Mon
You would never imagine that Nay Pyi Taw, the new capital of Myanmar has many beautiful places for taking your unforgettable photos around the city as it's well known as ‘Ghost City’ before among the international community.
But, after 14 years of moving capital from Yangon to Nay Pyi Taw, many people accepted that it has become more developing than before. Though there were less than one million people living in Nay Pyi Taw since 2006, the population is getting increasing gradually in 2019. Not only government employees are living in Nay Pyi Taw, but many international and local businesses and other staff are also moving slightly so far.
The Nay Pyi Taw Development Council has planned to develop as Smart IT city for youths in the future, according to the Deputy Mayor of Nay Pyi Taw, U Ye Min Oo. Nay PyiTaw has believed to build in the center of the country for security issues since decades ago by the former military government. However, after changing to new democratic governments in 2011, it is changing step by step to become the garden city, smart IT city and so on.
The new government aims that Nay Pyi Taw to become a people’s city from the dictator’s city in the current time. Following the ambition of the government, the NPTDC is attempting to develop Nay Pyi Taw to become the smart city by developing many opportunities for pursuing people to come and settle here.
For me, it’s been almost three years, settling in Nay Pyi Taw from my super busy Yangon for my new job purpose. During my stay in Nay Pyi Taw, I've become enjoying gradually its living style, foods, places, and environment. Especially in winter, Nay Pyi Taw is like a city of Shan State that the weather is so chilly outside in the night and having fresh air in the day time.
There will not be included everything about Nay Pyi Taw in an article, that’s why I would like to share my favorite places in Nay Pyi Taw. In my list, Water Fountain, Safari and Zoo, HlayKhwinTaung Pagoda and Dam, Defense Services Museum, Mt Pleasant Hotel, Buddha Gaya Land Marks, PaungLaung Away Yar Dam, Old Nyaung Bin Gyi Su pagodas, Nga Lite Kan Eco resort and YarZaHta Ni Road with trees are included.
But let me introduce you following places first, these are some of my favorite parts in Nay Pyi Taw, that you can be enjoyed.
