SIM-card There are 4 main operators in Myanmar: MPT (www.mpt.com.mm/en), Ooredoo (www.ooredoo.com.mm/en), Telenor (www.telenor.com.mm/en) and Mytel (www.mytel.com.mm) and all networks offer 4G coverage in the big cities. The SIM cards cost only 1500 Kyats (approximately around 1.03 USD) and it is available at the airport or any mobile phone shops in the city. All those SIM cards are pre-paid systems and you can top-up starting from 1,000 Kyats to 10,000 Kyats. There are many package plans and can choose upon your requirements. MPT offers Tourist SIM (www.mpt.com.mm/en/home/mobile-services/tourist-sim) which cost 10,500 Kyats (Tax inclusive) and pre-loaded with 5,000 Kyats credit and 1.5GB data valid for 10 days. Telenor also offers Tourist SIM (www.telenor.com.mm/en/personal/tourist-sim) which cost 15,000 MMK (Tax inclusive) and pre-loaded with 1,500 Kyats credit, 5GB data and 50 minutes local calls to any providers valid for 14 days. If you prefer to buy the Tourist SIM, you should better buy at the airport upon your arrival. Most of the Hotels, Guest houses, Restaurants, Cafes, Bars offer free Wi-Fi but internet speeds are unstable sometimes and can be slow especially in rural areas.
