Taunggyi is the capital of Shan State, Myanmar and lies on the Tharzi–Kyaingtong road, just north of Shwenyaung and Inle Lake.Taunggyi is the fifth largest city of Myanmar, at the elevation of 4,712 feet (1.436m_) above sea level. The weather is cool and pleasant. The main transportation to Taunggyi is by the mountainous road. The nearest airport is Heho airport , 24 miles about an hour driving distance, by the road to the west of Taunggyi. Heho airport has regular flight to Yangon, Mandalay and Bagan. Taunggyi area is a popular tourist destination such as Inle lake, Pindaya, Kekku etc.
