Gekko Restaurant
Restaurant Overview
Gekko is located on the first floor of the Sofer & Co. Building in downtown Yangon. This historic building completed in 1906 was once used as a variety of commercial facilities including German beer, Egyptian cigar, Reuters telegram office. Many foreign tourists are crowded in the shop where the good old atmosphere finished in the colonial era from the former Britain drifted. Gekko’s open kitchen has a full grilled charcoal grilled grilled chicken and a cocktail lounge. There is a private room on the second floor and it can accommodate a maximum of 12 people.
Japanese cuisine like charcoal grilled chicken, Korean cuisines and Vietnamese dishes are also well prepared. In Myanmar you can eat authentic Japanese yakitori that can not be easily eaten. Also, some people come by using a cafe, so you can always experience the atmosphere of a historic building at any time you like.
