Vista Do Rio Kayan Traditional Fine Dining
Restaurant Overview
Vista Do Rio was opened in May 2017 and which is an authentic Kayan Traditional restaurant. You can see many ethnic restaurants in Yangon such as Shan, Kachin, Rakhine and Myanmar but I am sure you couldn’t find Kayan restaurant easily. The restaurant is decorated in Kayan traditional styles which can make you feel like you are in Kayan’s home. The woman staffs are wearing the traditional dress with the bronze rings and their trademark brass neck coils. There will be a small Kayan souvenir shop at the entrance. They offer various traditional cuisines and alcohol known as Khaung Yay. The popular menus among customers are Kayan Traditional Pork Sausage, Potato Mat Khar, Beef with Lemon Juice and Ginger Cooked in Bamboo. The another specialty is called Mud-Roasted Chicken with Herbs which need advance order because that took about 8 hours cooking time. I recommend you to try this because you will definitely satisfy with the taste. They serve the whole chicken which is full of aroma from the banana leaves, the meat is very tender, the herbs & ingredients are carefully stuffed to make the taste of the dish very unique. Don’t forget to order their traditional alcohol, Khaung Yay, and enjoy the breathtaking view of the Nga Moe Yeik Creek.
