Nay-pyi-daw
Nay Pyi Taw is the new capital of Myanmar (also known as Burma), north of former capital, Yangon (known as Rangoon). Nay Pyi Taw is located in 200 miles (320 KM) north of Yangon and 166 miles (267 KM) South of Mandalay. The capital is built since the 2000s and moved all government ministries in late 2005.

Since the new capital is opened in 2005, many state buildings were constructed such as Parliament (Hluttaw) complex, Ministries buildings, Presidential House, State guest houses. Roads are most famous that YarZaHta Ni Road is constructed 20 lanes in Nay Pyi Taw.

There are three seasons in Nay Pyi Taw, June to September is in Rain season, October to February is in Winter and March to May is Summer Time. Due to trees are growing around the city area, the temperature is getting a decrease in Nay Pyi Taw. The best season to visit in Nay Pyi Taw is wintertime. Around February and April, flowers blooming around the city corner.

 

Where to visit in Nay Pyi Taw

National Museum- Exhibits at the National Museum include Burmese art and ancient artifacts, primate and fossils, history of Myanmar, Kingdoms of Myanmar and other historic displays are most interested in the museum. Foreign visitors are charged MMK 5000 per person for entrance fees.

National Library Nay Pyi Taw- You can enjoy many books that old and latest inside the library, good internet and spaces are most favorite parts in Nay Pyi Taw. The library is closed to the National Museum.

Gems Museum- The museum is located in the Thapyay Gone area, one of the crowded places in Nay Pyi Taw. Jade, Rubies and other variety of gemstones are being displayed in the museum. Gems Emporiums are taking place at least twice a year in the Museum.

Defense Services Museum- The Museum is located in ZayarThiri township in Nay Pyi Taw. You can go through the old Yangon- Mandalay road. The Museum has displayed many interesting things indoor and outdoor. Tanks, aircraft and other war-related things have been displayed outside and historic displays are inside the Museum. The Museum is built in 600 acres compound; you can walk through many buildings inside.

The golden stupa of Uppatasanti Pagoda- It has an interior carved with stories from Buddhist literature. In a nearby enclosure are white elephants, once prized by Burmese royalty.

Nyaung Bin Gyi Su Pagodas- The group pagodas which we called ‘Nay Pyi Taw’s Bagan pagodas’ are located in Nyaung Bin Gyi Su village, Zabuthiri township in Nay Pyi Taw. The old pagodas are built a hundred years ago.

HlayKhwinTaung, Sin PhyuTaung, SamaTaung, LetLoteTaung, and ShweHlwanTaung- Those mountain ranges are Famous religious areas in Nay Pyi Taw. Pagodas are situated on the top of the mountain. Among the mountains, HlayKhwinTaung is crowded as there is PaungLaung River recreation center is opened for people to relax at the weekend.

Nan Mon Gyi Hot Springs and waterfall – When you have time, you can go and enjoy at Nant Mon Gyi hot springs located in PaungLaung township, that situated in PaungLaung mountain range. The hot springs are opened only after Rain season, from October to May. You can go through by car, and take boats at least two hours to reach the waterfall and hot springs. You can sleep at night if you want to enjoy nightlife in Nant Mon Gyi.

Nga Lite Eco Resort and Elephant camp- Nga Lite Eco resort and Elephant camp is located in 220 miles of Yangon-Nay Pyi Taw expressway, you can get inside to TaungNyo road. The Nga Lite Eco resort has beautiful views of the Nga Lite dam and buildings that fixed with eco-tourism. You can play with elephants in the camps for your weekend.

Nay Pyi Taw Zoo and Safari- These Zoo and Safari are closed to each other. You can go through Yangon- Mandalay old road to reach places. Local animals and exchanged animals from all over the world are waiting for visitors inside the zoo and safari.
