Yangon, also known as Rangoon, is the biggest and main commercial city of the Myanmar. The British first captured Yangon in the First Anglo-Burmese War (1824-26) but returned it Burmese administration after the war.

Shwedagon shouldn’t be missed to visit since it was landmark of the Myanmar. Kandawgyi and Yangon Zoo are situated near by Shwedagon. An average of 100,000 to 150,000 commuters (including students, workers, office staffs, costermongers and monks) go to their particular places by riding Yangon Circular Trains for everyday. There will be 39 stations that linked the city’s commercial area with the suburbs area in one big loop if you take a ride of Yangon Circular Train. The loop begins from Yangon Central Railway Station and it will take around 3 hours to finish the whole circuit. Bus and taxi
For going around the city, you can take taxi, buses or trains. “Grab” is the most popular taxi service application in Myanmar which shows the fixed price or you can call the taxi on the streets. Most of Taxis in Myanmar are not meter taxi so have to deal the price in advance before get in. If you want to try to ride a bus, I recommend you use the “HappyGoGo” or “YBus: Yangon Bus” application if you are in Yangon.
